Theatre I

Junior Acting (Grades K-2)

Young actors will develop self-confidence through theatre games, grow listening skills through storytelling, and promote coordination through movement. Students will learn about expression through improv and mime, character creation, voice projection, enunciation, theatre vocabulary terms, proper stage entrances and exits, and performing in the spotlight.

In addition to our fall showcase performance event, students who are registered in the fall term Theatre I classes may be considered for roles in our spring musical theatre production. Students registering for the spring term only will join the ensemble and be considered for smaller roles which may include vocal solo parts when appropriate.

Students in this class are strongly encouraged to join our choir program to develop and strengthen their vocal abilities in consideration of a singing role in the spring musical theatre production.

Grades: K-2

Fridays, 3:30 – 5:00 pm

*Students may be required to also attend rehearsals on Sunday afternoons for January-June in preparation for the spring musical theatre production. At-home preparation and consistent attendance will be required.
