Art I – Junior Art (Grades K-2)
Our youngest students will have fun discovering and exploring their creativity working with various art mediums in their first steps of self-expression. Students will learn how to draw and paint in different styles, and experiment with a variety of materials for crafting and mixed media projects. Student works will be featured at Amber Academy events and at various community art shows throughout the year.

Art II – Intermediate Art (Grades 3-5)
As students progress in this fun and inspiring art class their understanding of self-expression is deepened through increased self-direction while they explore creativity through freehand drawing, painting, and sculpting using a variety of artistic mediums. Student works will be featured at Amber Academy events and at various community art shows throughout the year.

Art III – Advanced Art (Grades 6+)
These advanced classes will push artistic boundaries and challenge creative limits. Young artists will intensively develop their skills in drawing, painting, sketching, sculpting and mixed media projects. Student works will be featured at Amber Academy events and at various community art shows throughout the year.

Choir (Grades K-6)
Our Choir class is for students who want to develop their interest and ability in the vocal talents they’ll enjoy throughout their life and makes experiences of group singing fun and inspiring. Through this program, students will learn about voice, sound and music through exercises as a group, and learn proper use of breath support, phrasing, interpretation, postures, stage presence, and the other important musical disciplines and vocal techniques. Our goal is to introduce students to music in a variety of styles and help students deepen their love of singing, develop social skills, and make positive friendships.
In addition to our fall and year-end performance events, choir students may be asked to perform at other events in the community.

Costumes and Fashion Design (Grades 6+)
This class will begin with exploring fabric types and construction methods and familiarizing students with sewing techniques. Each student will create a simple project of their own choice to be featured in a fashion show segment of the Academy’s showcase performance at the end of the fall term. In the spring term, students will work on costume construction and design using a variety of materials and techniques to help create costumes and pieces for the Academy’s spring musical theatre production.

Dance – Intro for Teens (Grades 6+)
This dance class is for older students with little or no previous dance experience that want to dip their toes into the world of dance. Students will learn dance basics, performance skills, and a choreographed number to perform at the end of each term. Fall term classes will focus on jazz, while the spring term will focus on hip-hop.

Photography, Video & Digital Design (Grades 6+)
Unleash your creativity! In this class, suitable for all skill levels, we will explore the exciting world of photography in our fall term, and videography and digital design in the spring term. From mastering camera settings and capturing stunning shots to editing videos and creating eye-catching graphics, students will build technical skills and artistic confidence. Each week offers a fun new challenge as they learn to tell powerful stories through visuals. Students may use any digital device to make their pictures and will need access to email to submit their pictures for review in class. Perfect for aspiring content creators, designers, and visual storytellers!

Theatre I – Junior Theatre & Acting (Grades K-3)
Young actors will develop self-confidence through theatre games, grow listening skills through storytelling, and promote coordination through movement. Students will learn about expression through improv and mime, character creation, voice projection, enunciation, theatre vocabulary terms, proper stage entrances and exits, and performing in the spotlight.
In addition to our fall showcase performance event, students who are registered in the fall term Theatre I classes may be considered for roles in our spring musical theatre production. Students registering for the spring term only will join the ensemble and be considered for smaller roles which may include vocal solo parts when appropriate.

Theatre II – Intermediate Theatre & Acting (Grades 4-6)
Students will learn to refine their rehearsal and performance skills and develop inner constructs that build confidence and awareness through a variety of vocal & physical techniques, and theatre exercises. Students will explore scenes and monologues, character studies, and script work through a variety of styles such as improv and comic timing, while experimenting with breath work designed to help connect with and access a range of emotions used for character development in a playful, supportive and team-based environment.
In addition to our fall showcase performance event, students who are registered in the fall term Theatre II classes will be considered for lead roles in our spring musical theatre production. Students registering for the spring term only will join the ensemble and be considered for smaller roles which may include vocal solo parts when appropriate.

Musical Theatre – Advanced (Grades 7+)
Open to both new and experienced actors, this class will provide intensive training for students to sharpen their acting skills, discipline, creative expression, and individual artistry. Performance opportunities will include their own musical theatre production in February that features material which is specific and relative to middle school and high school youth. Students will also be welcome to join our all-ages youth production in June.
This class is also recommended for students interested in exploring stagecraft arts including directing, stage management or set, props, and scenery design.
At-home preparation and consistent attendance will be required.
